In the weeks that led to this review, I figured out whether Special K Protein Shakes actually works. We took a close look at ingredients, side effects, clinical research and customer service quality. Plus, we analyzed hundreds of customer comments on the web. Then, we condensed and summarized to give you the info you need.

What You Need to Know

First off, Special K Protein Shakes include protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. If used as a meal-replacement, you’ll drink one in the place of breakfast, lunch or dinner. The bottles are small, so you can pop on in your bag and take it with you.

Sugar Content – “In a Weight-Loss Product?”

The first concern is the high sugar content of Special K Protein Shakes ingredients. “Weight-loss drinks should have a balance of proteins, carbs and fats,” said our Research Editor. “But if there’s a high sugar content, you may simply be adding unnecessary calories.”

“If you’re on low-carb then don’t be fooled by the high protein in this drink because there are 18g of sugars (out of a total of 28g of carbs),” stated a user.

“The sugar content is way high which exceeds the protein levels that would make you more satisfied after drinking,” reported a consumer.

Some customers didn’t mind the sugar content, because it satisfied their needs.

“I feel like these are a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth without wrecking your efforts,” commented a customer.

Poor Taste – “Not Flavorful!”

We found that customers were taking about the poor taste of Special K Protein Shakes ingredients. “Kellogg’s Special K Protein Breakfast Shake Vanilla Cappuccino isn’t good,” stated a customer.

“I did not think that this would have a real good taste  and I was right,” said a user.

“Been using for a few weeks and can’t get past the taste,” mentioned another.

While some didn’t care for the taste, other customers reported a different take on the product.

One user reported, “ It was not over-powering in flavor, but it stacked right on up there with my morning hot Vanilla flavored coffee.”

“I really enjoy all of the flavors,” said another.

Our research into supplements has shown that all it takes is something small, like poor taste, to put the brakes on long-term success. If Special K Protein Shakes aren’t the most flavorful, customers may walk away from it.

The Science – “Rock Solid?”

At DietSpotlight, we look for research showing a supplement will help you lose weight. We didn’t find solid science showing Special K Protein Shakes were effective. There are studies backing the effectiveness of protein and fiber as it relates to weight-management, but the results don’t point toward this formula.

The Bottom Line – Do Special K Protein Shakes Work?

Before heading out for your Special K Protein Shakes, here’s our final thoughts. We like the price and that we located some favorable customer comments, but we have concerns because the research about protein and fiber doesn’t relate to this product. We’re also a bit skeptical because customers are talking about the high sugar content and poor taste.

If you want to shed those extra pounds, why not try combining a healthy balanced diet and exercise routine with a weight-loss supplement that contains some clinically-tested ingredients?
